Session 1: Hyper-V Overview

After completing this session, students will be able to:

• Explain how Hyper-V is a feature of Windows Server 2008

• Identify the requirements and features of Hyper-V

• Identify Hyper-V core design scenarios
 

Session 2: Technical Background and Architecture

After completing this session, students will be able to:

• Explain how the underlying architecture of Hyper-V is structured

• Explain how to install Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 Server Core computers

• Explain how to perform and automate common management tasks using tools such as Windows PowerShell

• Explain the capabilities of System Center Virtual Machine Manager and how it can be leveraged to manage Hyper-V servers

• Identify other features and capabilities of Hyper-V

• Explain how Hyper-V can be used to create highly available servers
 

Session 3: Managing Hyper-V

After completing this session, students will be able to:

• Manage virtualization settings

• Manage virtual hard disks (VHDs)
